The lead actor Dornan from, Fifty Shades of Grey disclosed last week on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs that after doing that movie he hid.
When the first Fifty Shades movie was released in 2015, it received negative reviews. The film currently has a 25% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and director Sam Taylor-Johnson was nominated for worst director at the Razzie Awards that year before the movie’s premiere, Dornan received positive reviews from critics, especially for his role as a serial killer in “The Fall”.
“I was recovering from career-changing reviews for The Fall, BAFTA nominations, and all the crazy that “The Fall” made people laugh at,” Dornan remarked.
He answered, “I consider I hid.”
“My family hid at Sam and Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s home as they were not present at that. He continued, “We sort of hid there for a while and cut ourselves off from the outside world when they allowed us to live there”.
Despite receiving negative reviews, Fifty Shades of Grey loved by the audience became a box office hit and set the stage for the two sequels in the franchise, for which Dornan was signed to play the same role.
The actor claimed, “The movie generated a good revenue, and another two sequels of the film were declared overnight.”
“I’m now contracted to do two more, knowing that there will be much more judgment. It was a strange thing because there’s a bit of ridicule here”, he added.

However, Dornan is not ashamed of the movies: “Recently, I received extremely positive feedback for my job. And nothing will compare with Fifty Shades of Grey”. He mentioned that many evaluations read something like, “He’s great, but at least we forget when he wasn’t great here.”
“Are you unhappy I did them? to which replied, No”.
In December, Dornan stated to The Independent that he planned to take a temporary break from projects portraying significant roles.
He declared, “Nothing like Fifty Shades of Grey can be made again.”

“Additionally, I’m quite satisfied with my current situation. I can lead a fairly normal life”, he concluded.
