Actor David Gail, who appeared in over 200 episodes of the General Hospital spinoff Port Charles as Dr. Joe Scanlon, has passed away at the age of 58.
On Friday, Gail’s sister, Katie Colmenares, revealed the devastating news of his demise on Instagram, praising her brother for being both her “best friend” and “wingman.” As of Sunday, Gail’s cause of death remained unknown.
Gail appeared in the ‘General Hospital’ spin off as Dr. Joe Scanlon from 1999 to 2000. Among Gail’s other roles are those of Dean Collins in the WB drama Savannah and Stuart Carson, the fiancé of Shannen Doherty’s Brenda Walsh in Beverly Hills, 90210.
Her sister uploaded a picture of the two of them hugging and said, “There’s hardly ever a single day in my life where you have not been with me by my side, always my wingman, always my best friend ready to face anything and anyone with me.”
She concluded, “The bears won’t ever be the same but I will hold you close each day in my heart you gorgeous loving amazing fierce human being missing you every second of every day forever there will never be another by adding two heartbreaks emoji.”
The news of Gail’s passing was also extensively disseminated by Pete Ferriero, the host and producer of the Beverly Hills 90210 Show podcast, who posted previous glimpses of Gail’s visit on his program.
“Remembering David Gail. The podcast’s official Instagram account posted a few stories that the new member offered on Saturday.
