Colombian star, “Karol G” bags “Best Música Urbana Album award”; First Female to win this prestigious award

The Colombian superstar Karol G created a historic moment as the first female won the prestigious Best Música Urbana Album award at the 2024 Grammy Awards in LA on Sunday. 

 It was a momentous and triumphant occasion. Not only did her album Mañana Será Bonito receive positive reviews from fans, but it also won the singer her first Grammy award. This achievement was momentous for her career and for women in the dynamic Latin music industry.

Excitement erupted as Karol G was named the winner of the Best Música Urbana Album category. With her album Mañana Será Bonito, she won, defeating strong competitors like Tainy’s and Rauw Alejandro’s Saturno. 

With this remarkable achievement, she becomes just the second artist and the first female vocalist to win in this category since it was first introduced two years ago. The previous champion, Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny, won the prize in 2022 and 2023.

On the Grammy red carpet, Karol G made her stage debut wearing a stunning silver gown with a pop of pink hair for extra flair. She spoke with genuineness throughout her acceptance speech, expressing a mixture of joy, anxiety, and excitement. saying, “Hello, I’m Karol G. I live in Medellín, Colombia. I have never attended the Grammy Awards before, and I have never held a Grammy before”.

She continued, “I’m thrilled, anxious, and thrilled to be in front of so many legendary people that I respect and admire. I have the fondest memories of my life from my album. I’m inspired and motivated by my admirers. I swear to always give it my all for you! Hopefully, this is only the first of many”.

In addition to establishing Karol G as a prominent Latina in the music business, her momentous victory at the 2024 Grammy Awards has opened the opportunity door for other female musicians to excel in the Música Urbana category.
