Jennifer Lopez is expressing her affection towards Ben Affleck. The “Jenny From the Block” singer broke down in tears as she thanked her husband Affleck before the Los Angeles premiere of her next film This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, which unlocks on Prime Video on Friday.

In her speech she applauds, “And now there’s someone who always motivated me, and who served as my inspiration for this as well”. The 54-year-old Lopez stated, “I know he hates that I’m doing this right now, but he just inspired an album 20 years ago.”

He seems to be saying, ‘Please shut up.'” Not at all! And I decline. She went on, “I say, I love you, and thank you for helping me believe in myself and believing in me.”  She went on, “And encouraging my personal growth every day. I appreciate whatever you’re doing for me, the family we’ve built, and our kids.”

“You’ll never understand what it means to have me as your love companion for this lifetime. I’m grateful,” Lopez said. The pair stood on the red carpet together before the screening, where Lopez and Affleck, 51, sealed a passionate kiss at their seats as the credits began to roll.

Here I Am Right Now: Lopez’s upcoming album This Is Me…Now, which is a follow-up to her 2002 album This Is Me…Then, there is a musical and visual retelling of the real events that served as inspiration for the song A Love Story.

The film has taken a long time to complete, according to Lopez, who stated at a press conference last week that her real-life romance with Affleck motivated her to finish it. The cast of the movie includes Trevor Noah and Jane Fonda.

The director of Lopez’s musical film, Dave Meyers, compared the couple’s working style to that of Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars in an interview with PEOPLE on Tuesday night. Veteran director Affleck also offered some wise counsel to Lopez, who produced, co-wrote, and starred in the ambitious picture. Meyers, 51, told PEOPLE that “they work pretty similar to how I think they are as a couple.”
