Two days after watching a Kansas City Chiefs game at friend Jordan Willis’ Kansas City rental, Clayton McGeeney, Ricky Johnson, and David Harrington were discovered dead on January 9.
The brother of Johnson, one of the three men discovered dead in a friend’s backyard following a Kansas City Chiefs game, had to break the news to the mother that her son had passed away on her birthday. While mother was celebrating her birthday, she received devastating news about her son’s demise.
Johnson’s mother Jonathan Price found out about his death then, Price’s mother told her son Rusty, who told Price, 31, the next day. “That entire week, there were no answers and no one knew anything,” Price recalls.
The attorney for Willis, John Picerno, previously gave a statement to PEOPLE that his client is unaware of how his friends died and is anxiously awaiting the results of the ongoing toxicology and autopsy reports. As stated in the statement, Willis’s final interaction with his three friends was when they left his house, and he immediately got into bed.
The fifth person, who wishes to remain nameless, allegedly told WDAF that when he left the house that evening, Willis and the three guys were in their senses. The medical examiner will establish the cause of death, according to police, who also stated that “no foul play was observed or suspected”.

Price tells PEOPLE that Johnson was a huge sports lover and that his brother’s TV was usually tuned to a game of some kind. But he was also described as “an amazing brother and uncle, cousin, and friend” who “would help anybody no matter what, no questions asked,” in addition to being “a great father” to his three children, ages 14, 9, and 4.
Price continues, “I want him to always be remembered as a truly selfless person because that is who he was.”
Johnson’s children’ care and the costs of his funeral have been covered by a GoFundMe established for him.
