The directors, Reynolds, 47, and John Krasinski, of the upcoming movie IF unveiled a new trailer on social media. Viewers were given a glimpse of a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming movie IF before the teaser being shown during this Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The Monday teaser recreates the famous scene where Park plays Krasinski’s character, Jim Halpert, in the NBC series’ season nine episode, “Andy’s Ancestry.”Noting to the audience that the forthcoming film is about imaginary people and that he came up with the “idea for the movie about seven years ago.” The behind-the-scenes footage shows Park directing, laughing, and interacting with the crew and actors.
Awkwafina, Louis Gossett Jr., Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emily Blunt, Richard Jenkins, Maya Meloni, and Sam Rockwell are all members of the IF cast.
In the episode, Jim (Krasinski, 44) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) trick Dwight (Rainn Wilson) by having their friend Steve (Park) pretend as Jim. Jim, played by Park, insists throughout the show that he has always been the Jim Dwight has collaborated with. To confuse Dwight, Jim and Pam from Krasinski’s film take out any pictures of the real couple and replace them with pictures of the fictitious pair.

Park claims to be Krasinski once again in the latest teaser. However, he argues to Reynolds this time that he has always been the writer and director of IF. Park is informed by Reynolds that he is not John Krasinski. “Hey, Ryan, I know it’s been a while since we shot, but we spent like four months together, like 10-hour days,” the Always Be My Maybe star says to him. “You’re Randall Park.”
Reynolds responds, “The real John Krasinski knows I only work four hours a day.” Reynolds yells, “Did you just break the fourth wall?” when Park turns to face the camera as he does this.
