Warrior Coach, “Dejan Milojević” died to Cardiac Arrest at 46

Assistant coach, Dejan Milojević for the Golden State Warriors, passed away at the age of 46.

On X (Formerly known as Twitter), The Warriors said in a statement that the veteran coach and former player passed away at a hospital in the Salt Lake City region early on Wednesday morning. On Tuesday night the coach suffered a heart attack as he was attending a private dinner in advance of their game against the Utah Jazz.

In his third season with the Warriors, the Serbian coach and former player gave the assistance to players in winning the 2022 NBA title.

The people associated with the coach are deeply saddened by hearing the news of demise. According to the Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, “This is an extremely difficult time for his family, friends, and all of us who had the pleasure of working with him. It is a devastating and tragic loss to all those associated with the Warriors.”

He added that, “Dejan was one of the most wonderful and lovely human beings I have ever known, someone who brought pleasure and light to every single day with his enthusiasm and energy,”

Kerr went on. “He was not only a fantastic basketball coach. We are in deep sorrow for his wife, Natasa, as well as their kids, Nikola and Masa”.

After assisting the Warriors to the 2022 NBA title, Milojević was in his third season as an assistant coach.

According to the Warriors media guide, Milojević spent eight seasons as the head coach of KK Mega Basket in Belgrade, Serbia, before joining the Warriors. He also served as the head coach of KK Budućnost in the Adriatic League in Montenegro.

He was a former NBA Summer League assistant coach for the Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets. He was also a former assistant coach for the Serbian national team.

In addition to coaching two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic during his early years, Milojević, a 14-year international player, was also mentioned by the Associated Press.

Ahead of Milojević’s demise, news made public on Wednesday morning, the NBA declared that the match would be postponed due to this news that affected the “Warriors family” and a new date would be announced later.
