Jennifer Michele de Winter is embracing all aspects of the entertainment industry as an actress, writer, director, producer, and content creator. She may wear many hats, often at the same time, one thing is clear—Jennifer Michele is always in control of her journey. I recently had the pleasure to interview Jennifer about her career and her thoughts on the industry.

You are an actress, writer, and director. As an actress what made you want to start directing and writing?

Watching my favorite movies made me want to act, and my love for movies made me realize I wanted to tell stories and be more in control with how I told them. I decided then to begin my journey of writing and directing.

How did your role in Joey and Ella come about?

I auditioned, and then they called me and told me I booked it. It was exciting! The whole thing was a great experience. It was filmed in Oklahoma, which was part of the adventure. The people on set were really nice and a pleasure to work with. I had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing new places. It was really cool working with so much CG, it really challenged me as an actress to be working with something that wasn’t there. It was great fun!

What is your favorite moment from being on the set of your award-winning film Riley?

I really can’t pick a favorite moment. I really enjoyed the whole process from start to finish. This was a really fun project to create and to work on, and I was happy with the results. The fact that it was recognized in such a way is a very nice reward. It’s nice to win the awards in different categories, this is great confirmation since I enjoy doing it all.

You are also a content creator. How do you come up with your content?

I usually just post what’s going on in my life. What I am working on, also my day-to-day life. I enjoy engaging with people, when I can, so that’s wonderful for me.

Do you have any advice for your followers on how to handle negative comments on their social media?

Yes, I have been bullied, or had hurtful comments. I feel unfortunately that this is something a lot of people are dealing with. My advice to kids that are suffering from bullying is to reach out to someone you trust and talk to people. Don’t try to deal with it all on your own.

You go to a lot of red-carpet events. What has been your favorite event so far?

Ahh that’s way too hard. Everything is so unique in its own way. Some events that stick out to me though, that I’ve been to recently are the LA art show, and Shazam. The Art was inspiring because I also create art. I love to sculpt and paint and so that was amazing to support and see other artists in those mediums. I Just really loved the Shazam movie and all the games and food they had at the LA premiere so that was good fun!!

How important do you think networking is to a budding career?

I would say it is important once you have the basics down. Once you have an agent and Manager and have studied and have something to show of what you do. It’s always good to have something to show so that when people meet you, you have something to talk about.

Are there any upcoming projects you can share with our readers?

I am coming out in something. I will post that as soon as I can on my Socials. I am also directing another short film that I will be acting in as well. It’s going to have some amazing CG and will be really fun, it’s called “Dark Spiral”.
