A Biopic on Linda Ronstadt; Selena Gomez starred to portray her character

In a biopic about a famous singer-songwriter, Selena Gomez is set to play the role of Linda Ronstadt.

The singer will portray the role of eleven-time Grammy winner, which will be directed by the Producers James Keach (Walk the Line) and John Boylan, manager of Ronstadt.

There is no official announcement about this biopic; neither the information of cast is out nor any distributor has come forward to be a part of the film .

“It all started with a simple dream,” Ronstadt stated in a news piece about the film that was released on her official Facebook and Instagram pages on Wednesday. Both Ronstadt and Gomez are of Mexican heritage, and a statement on Boylan’s Great Eastern Music website states that the two previously met at the former’s house to discuss the idea.

On the official pages of the Facebook and Instagram accounts, he shared a post that read, “It all started with a simple dream.” This information was shared according to a note on the website for Boylan’s company Great Eastern Music.

The speculation arose by the social media post of Gomez, where she posted a photo of Ronstadt’s 2013, Simple Dreams,as a tribute to her. We all know that Simple Dreams is also the name of Ronstadt’s 1977 album that has been certified triple-platinum.

In 2019, the documentary was made on Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice by Keach. .

Known for her music skills, Ronstadt, 77, had released 24 studio albums and the No. 1 hit “You’re No Good.” Into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2014 and was feted with the 2019 Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime achievement.

Later she retired from singing as she was diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy, a degenerative disease.

A two-time Grammy nominee, Gomez is also known for her success in music as well as acting. She currently stars on the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
