All the audience of “Moana” mark their calendars for November 27 as Disney is coming with the second chapter “Moana 2”.A place where the sky meets the sea. Disney revealed that the next sequel “Moana 2,” will be released in theatres on November 27.

Bob Iger, the CEO of the business, broke the news on CNBC prior to Disney’s earnings release for the first quarter of fiscal 2024. Iger was so taken by the footage that the second “Moana,” which had been planned as a TV series, was turned into a feature film.

“The ‘Moana’ franchise continues to enjoy immense popularity,” Iger declared in a statement. “We’re excited to share with you even more Moana and Maui when ‘Moana 2’ hits theaters in November”, he continued.

“Moana 2” will take viewers on a “wide-ranging new journey starring Moana, Maui, and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers,” according to Disney.

A brief synopsis of the film, “Moana must go to the remote reaches of Oceania and into hazardous, long-lost waters after hearing an unexpected call from her navigational ancestors. This will be an adventure unlike anything she has ever experienced”.

The sequel is being directed by Dave Derrick Jr. and has music by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear in addition to Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina, who collaborated on the original picture. It’s unlikely that Lin-Manuel Miranda, the composer of “How Far I’ll Go” and “You’re Welcome,” will provide new music to the sequel.

Disney saw success with “Moana,” which brought in over $680 million at the box office. With one billion hours streamed on Disney+ last year, the animated musical saw a resurgence.

Iger’s choice to release “Moana 2” in cinemas comes after Disney’s disappointing performance at the box office in 2023. “Wish” from Disney Animation followed a lengthy list of unsuccessful projects, such as “The Marvels,” “Haunted Mansion,” and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.” “Elemental,” a Pixar film, had a rough beginning but eventually made $496 million worldwide.
