Taylor Swift, the four-time Grammy Award winner for “Album of the Year“, just revealed a surprise while receiving her present at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday.
While addressing the audience, she said, it was also her “lucky number” as she revealed that her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department”, would be released on April 19.
The celebrity accepted the Best Pop Vocal Album trophy for her album ‘Midnights”, defeating Ed Sheeran’s “Subtract,” Miley Cyrus‘ “Endless Summer Vacation,” Olivia Rodrigo‘s “Guts,” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Chemistry.”
She gave a speech, “I would like to express my gratitude to the Recording Academy members for their support.” However, I am aware that the Recording Academy’s decision reflects the passion of the public,” Swift remarked.
She shared, “So I want to express my gratitude to the audience by revealing to you a little-known fact that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand’s new record coming out on April 19.”
“The name of the album is “The Tortured Poets Department,” she continued. I’m going backstage right now to upload the cover. I cherish the memories and I’m grateful for this honor.
After revealing the cover post of the upcoming album she shares the meaning behind the music album, “Written in the dead of night, this collection of songs takes listeners on a trip through terrifying and lovely dreams. The monsters we confront and the floors we tread,” Swift continued.
While concluding her speech she said, “The other candidates undoubtedly deserved their moment in the spotlight, even with this major news”.
The 12-time winner, 34, was seen chatting with her producing partner, 39-year-old Jack Antonoff, at the start of Sunday’s award show while she held a black fan.
The singer-songwriter grabbed the attention as she was seen leaning over to say something to Antonoff while covering her lips with the fan covered in a video captured by E! News.
Fans asumed that, “I assumed it was to stop the lip reading attempts,” in response to a photo that showed Swift clutching a fan and speaking with Antanoff. Another follower commented on the video, “Whoa!????.
Looking at Swift’s outfit, fans were speculating that she is giving the major goals of Reputation.
