We regret to inform you that Taylor Swift will not be attending the 2024 Grammy Awards. The 34-year-old pop sensation is scheduled to attend Sunday’s annual music awards gala, but PEOPLE has discovered she won’t be performing since she has to leave right away for Japan to continue her Eras Tour.
From February 7–10, Swift will play four consecutive nights in the Tokyo Dome. She then plans to continue her Eras Tour through the end of the summer, stopping in Australia, Asia, and Europe. Currently, shows in the US and Canada this fall are scheduled to round up the tour.
With the No. 1 smash song “Anti-Hero,” Swift has been nominated for six Grammy Awards in 2024: song of the Year, record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Karma” with Ice Spice, and best pop vocal album and album of the year for Midnights.
During an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, Travis Kelce, the boyfriend of the “Cruel Summer” singer revealed that he will not be joining Swift at the Grammy Awards.
“I hope I could attend the Grammy Awards and experience Taylor winning every award for which she is nominated,” expressed the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, whose team will take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LVIII on February 11.
Since its March 2023 premiere, Swift’s Eras Tour has been a huge success, earning over $1 billion and holding the record for the greatest lucrative concert tour ever, according to Pollstar.
Swift said about the continued show for 3.5 hours, “I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot.” Each night, Swift performs songs from almost all of her ten original studio albums in addition to two surprise songs.
Six months before the tour’s commencement, she began her training. Swift told the newspaper, “I used to run on the treadmill every day and sing the entire set list out loud.”
She concluded, “I had to be so over-rehearsed that I might look silly with the fan so as not to lose my connection .”
