London was engulfed in Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya fever on Thursday night as the Hollywood stars walked the red carpet for the global premiere of Dune: Part Two.
Enormous groups of devoted followers stood in line for hours in wait of their arrival, yelling their names aloud. When Zendaya eventually entered, the crowd let out audible screams and she looked amazing in a metallic suit.
An autumn premiere was originally scheduled for the eagerly anticipated sequel. Due to the Hollywood actors and writers strikes, that hampered the business for a large portion of last year, the release date was rescheduled.
“The movie is finally out, and it’s a huge relief,” director Denis Villeneuve said to BBC News. He continued by saying he will be “biting his nails” until the movie opens in theaters the following month.
Among the dazzling cast members commemorating the movie’s premiere were Florence Pugh and Austin Butler. The 1965 novel Dune by Frank Herbert, which has won multiple awards, including the Hugo Award, served as the inspiration for the epic science fiction movie.
The story follows Paul Atreides (Chalamet) as he teams up with Chani (Zendaya), his love interest, and the Fremen desert people to fight a sizable enemy army.
Chalamet’s character seeks revenge on the conspirators who slaughtered his family in the sequel, where he discovers their unique method of surviving on the desolate desert world.
Chalamet acknowledged that considering the role’s critical and economic success, he was under “a little bit of pressure” to finish it.
The actor expressed optimism that Dune: Part Three would come after while speaking on the red carpet. “I really hope so,” he said. However, a large number of attendees at Thursday’s Leicester Square event weren’t primarily drawn by the source material.
One ecstatic admirer remarked, “I’m mostly excited to see Timothée Chalamet.” Another little child said, “I love him,” holding a cardboard cutout of Chalamet. Another admirer told the BBC that she was anxious to sneak an appearance of Zendaya.
