Disney Channel revealed a few weeks ago that Gomez and Henrie will be back in the much-awaited follow-up series.
So, audiences of Disney Channel take a back seat and get to know a whole new cast of wizards thanks to Selena Gomez and David Henrie!
Henrie and Gomez posed for a picture on his Instagram Story while having dinner with the newest cast members of the much-awaited Wizards of Waverly Place reboot, as well as its new writers, Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff.
The image was captioned, “Let’s make some magic,” by 34-year-old Henrie.
Gomez, 31, was beaming as she wrapped her arm around one of the authors of the show while Henrie was hoisting a young actor onto his shoulders. Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, and Mimi Gianopulos three recent additions to the cast were also spotted laughing for the camera.
The two, who portrayed brothers in the first Disney Channel series, were returning for a sequel, Disney said earlier this month. Henrie will play series regular Justin Russo, while Gomez will return to the role of Alex Russo in the pilot.
The new Disney Channel series will have Brown in the lead role of Billie, the strong young magician in need of training. Thiele will portray Roman, Justin’s eldest son, and Gianopulos will take on the role of Justin’s wife Giade.
Disney Channel also uploaded an image on their official page of the pilot script with a series wand on Instagram to provide hints about the surprise. The caption stated, “Waverly Place: Wizards of Waverly Place.”
In response, Henrie posted a comment, “We’ve grown, but get ready for the Russoss to become a part of your family again! The year returns in 2024”

Gomez also shared the Deadline article on social media in response to the news, stating that she was “so excited” and adding a heart emoji. With the message, “We’re back,” she then posted a vintage picture of herself and Henrie from the Wizards of Waverly Place set.
