Accident happened at Wonder Man’s shooting set; 1 Dead and Investigation Under Process

An accident occurred on the Wonder Man set, taking the life of a crew member. A rigger was among the crew members who fell from the rafters at Radford Studios on Tuesday, according to the news published at The Hollywood Reporter, a US media outlet.

“Wonder Man” stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as stuntman-turned-superhero Simon Williams. Although the crew was working on Tuesday, no filming took place.

The Hollywood Reporter added that a representative for Marvel released a statement saying, “Our emotions and greatest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is beneath the investigation into the circumstances of this accident.”

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is conducting an inquiry. Following the crew member’s passing, IASTE, the union that represents backstage employees, released a statement of its own.

This personal loss has stunned and sadly saddened the whole lA family. President Matthew D. Loeb stated, “We are working to support our member’s family, as well as his fellow members and colleagues.” He said further, “Our top priority is safety, and we will do everything in our power to support Cal/OSHA’s investigation.”

A portion of “Wonder Man” was completed before the SAG-AFTRA strike in July. The amount of work left on the series is unknown, but according to one source, most of the filming was completed and only a few pick-ups were planned.

Andrew Guest of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Destin Daniel Creton of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are two of the show’s behind-the-scenes talents. According to TMZ, Ben Kingsley is one of the Marvel stars coming back to play the part of thespian Trevor Slattery.
