Mariah Carey won the Global Impact Award at the Recording Academy Honors

The five-time Grammy winner was given the Global Impact Award by the Black Music Collective at the Recording Academy Honors held on Thursday.

The 54-year-old celebrity showed up wearing a copper tulle skirt wrapped over a golden corset bodysuit. The vocalist’s legs and dazzling pointed-toe shoes were visible through the beautiful skirt on which a big bow was tied in on her hip.

Singer paired with a metallic-inspired ensemble including numerous glittering gems, such as a diamond cartilage cuff, diamond drop earrings, and a diamond choker necklace, complemented with the outfit.

The “Obsessed” singer finished off her look with a golden glam makeup that was dewy. She applied a dark brown smokey eye and a glossy nude lip. Carey’s hairstyle, which was inspired by Old Hollywood, completed her glitzy look.

Carey was given the Recording Academy Global Impact Award, a CEO Merit Award, during the 2024 Recording Academy Honors, which were hosted by the Black Music Collective.

According to a press release from the Recording Academy, she acknowledged by saying, “Black music creators whose dedication to the art form has greatly influenced the industry and whose legacy of service inspires countless individuals worldwide, celebrating those who through leadership and passion, empower others to embrace their authentic selves and contribute to positive change.”

In accordance with the Recording Academy, Lenny Kravitz was also given the Global Impact Award on Thursday, which is another CEO Merit Award that “recognizes Black music creators whose dedication to the art form has greatly influenced the industry.”

On Sunday, February 4 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles will host the 66th Grammy Awards.
