Moving from a small town in Ohio to the bright lights of Los Angeles, Taylor Fangmann is a small town girl with big city dreams. Her newest single “Wrong Way” will be available on all streaming services March 13th. I interviewed Taylor on what led her to her new music career and what her plans are for the future.

Hi Taylor! Thank you for the interview. Tell us about your newest single “Wrong Way”.

My new song “Wrong Way” is a country/pop song. It’s the follow up to the single I released at the end of 2022 called “Lonely”.

What was the inspiration behind the song?

The inspiration behind the song is about a relationship when you’re too scared to love them back but it turns out they never actually loved you.

Do you carry around a notebook so you can write down lyrics when you think of them throughout the day?

I do have a songwriting notebook but because I’m out so much. I also use my notes app for lyrics and voice memos when I think of melody.

You started out as an actress. What made you decide to start making music or have you always been interested in making music?

So, I have always had a love for music. When I was five years old my great-grandma sat me down at her piano and ever since I have loved music. When I was 7 years old got my first guitar, a full drum set 8, and a keyboard at 9. I’ve always written music ever since I can remember.

If you could do a duet with anyone — alive or dead — who would it be and why?

If I could do a duet with someone it would have to be Kelsea Ballerini because my first time singing for people was at my fourth-grade talent show. I sang one of her songs in that show. I just love her music and writing.

Do you have any aspirations or plans for live performances?

I do plan to do live performances in the future, but I would like to have more music out first. I really hope to go on tour someday.

Fun question – if you could do a cover of any song what would it be and why?

Love this! If I were to cover any song it would have to be “ Style” by Taylor Swift because my sisters and I love that song.

Any plans for more music after this one?

Absolutely I do have plans for more music so definitely keep your eyes out.
