Recently in an episode of the New Heights Podcast featuring Jason and Travis Kelce, the 36-year-old player of the Philadelphia Eagles made a joke about how Swifties rigged the “NFL Best Team Name Bracket” by supporting the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jason jokingly said to his brother Travis Kelce, “The Swifties had a crazy obsession with the Chiefs and Travis Kelce, and they’re only supporting based on their affection for Taylor and your relationship, not upon their appreciation for the team name.” Thus, it wasn’t an accurate portrayal.
In response, the Tight end Chiefs said his brother “completely screwed the Chiefs out of winning” and accused him of swaying votes in the Buffalo Bills’ favor.
In jest, Jason mentioned that the Swifties voted for the Minnesota Vikings over his side, the Philadelphia Eagles, in retaliation for him having “campaigned” for the Bills to defeat the Chiefs.
Travis laughed and exclaimed, “Why the f— are you accusing the fans of Swift for all the losses?”
Jason made fun of the Swifites, saying, “Well, they got very upset, they have no comprehension of our politics.” “They started accusing me of influencing votes,” the speaker said.
But after hearing in their podcast that the brothers were up for best sports podcast, podcast of the year, and best overall ensemble at the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards, Jason later had second thoughts and turned to Swift’s followers for support.
Jason joked, “Swifites, we’re talking to you right now, let’s rig this vote.” “This is for Travis; it’s not for me. Kindly go vote for the New Heights podcast to be the year’s best podcast”.
Travis added, “92 percenters you know what to do.”
Jason has only kind features to say about the “Anti-Hero” singer and her connection with his brother, despite all his jokes.
In an NFL interview during the 2024 Pro Bowl, Jason stated, “I’ve been fortunate to meet Taylor now.”
He continued, “When you see someone with that level of celebrity, it’s amazing to witness how amazing, sincere, and grounded they are.”
“My sibling and his relationship with his girlfriend is certainly an aspect of the NFL right now, and for me, my brother’s happiness is of utmost importance. As long as Travis is happy and experiencing the love journey, I’m happy” Jason said.
