As a content creator in Hollywood, Alyssa Brook has had the chance to attend some of the top events and premieres alongside some of the biggest names in the world. Starting out as a journalism major in Newcastle, England, she has worked her way up from intern to managing editor of Hollywood Unlocked. Her fans on social media also know her as an adventure seeker! Recently, I was able to interview Alyssa about her career and her thoughts on social media.
As a content creator why do you think social media is important in this industry?
Social media allows you to reach people from anywhere at any time. You can learn and collaborate with people from all over the world and be educated in other cultures.
Do you have any advice for your followers on how to handle negative comments on their social media?
I limit my comments, I don’t allow the space for negativity, I have a full-time job so even if negative comments made it to my page, I would ignore it, especially if the commenters don’t know me on a personal level. There has to be something negatively impacting them if they want to push it on to others. Just ignore & wish them the best.
How do you come up with ideas for your social media content?
It depends on life, whether I am traveling, at a premiere, unboxing a new season of Chanel, or cage diving with sharks. My content follows my life experiences and my likes and passions, I am not here to push a specific genre or product.
How did your role with Hollywood Unlocked come about?
I met my boss at a love and hip-hop filming almost a decade ago and applied for an intern at his new company Hollywood Unlocked.

What is your favorite interview of all time?
There are a lot! Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler, The Rock, Harrison Ford, Chloe Bailey, Djimon Honsou, and Sandra Bullock!
You go to a lot of red-carpet events. What has been your favorite event so far?
We ziplined at the “Shotgun Wedding” premiere and “Barbie” was definitely amazing. Also premieres at Disneyland are always great. “Jungle Cruise” and “Haunted Mansion” were so fun!
How important do you think networking is to a budding career?
It is very important that is all I did in the beginning, now not so much, everyone is a phone call or text away!
Are there any upcoming projects you can share with our readers?
After diving with sharks this summer in Hawaii I will be doing my diving certification to add more ocean content to our YouTube, which is a platform I just started and hope to grow to match my Instagram following!
